Today Bethesda announced a set release date for Skyrim’s highly anticipated Dawnguard DLC, and it is much closer than some may think. Earlier this month, many outlets were reporting a speculated release date of June 26th, but nothing was official. That is, until now.
June 26th is the big day for Skyrim fans… sort of. The date provided was for the “English” version of the add-on content, meaning that the US and UK will have their hands on the vampiric adventure next week. French, Italian, German and Spanish-speaking versions of Dawnguard will be available “mid-July”.
Further dividing up which gamers will actually be playing Dawnguard next week, Xbox 360 has been given a 30-day exclusive head start over the PlayStation 3. Owners of Sony’s console have no choice but to wait another month before they can join/defeat the vampire lord.
If you happen to reside in the aforementioned English-speaking territories AND own an Xbox 360 (and Skyrim, of course), then you can purchase Dawnguard for 1600 MS Points on June 26th.
