The PlayStation Vita’s price tag made it very hard for some people to jump on board with the latest handheld at launch, but Amazon is helping soften the blow for those looking to invest in the system now. However, you better be looking at buying a 3G-enabled Vita.
First, there’s the 3G/WiFi Vita handheld which is being sold for $281.63 by buymatrix. There’s no need to be concerned about the integrity of this seller since the order is fulfilled by Amazon. The price has actually risen since the listing was posted. Originally, the cost down to $268.98, but it seems the seller raised prices slightly after demand increased following the sale.
There is another option and this one is sold straight from Amazon. The PlayStation Vita First Edition Bundle has received a $20 discount and now sits at $329.99. In case you’ve forgotten, the First Edition Bundles comes with the following: PlayStation Vita system, 4GB Memory Card, exclusive case and Little Deviants game. That’s not too bad for those who want to take advantage of AT&T’s 3G connectivity.
Currently, inventory on both items seems to be fine since neither claims to be running low on stock. However, that doesn’t mean that more people won’t pick up on the discounted product as the word gets out there.

April 16, 2012 at 1:23 AMSony pulling the ‘ol SOS pricecut from Nintendo’s playbook? Too many hidden costs associated with this system but once they include a 16gb card to match the PSPGo I’ll be on board.

Don’t you think 16gb is an unrealistic amount to hope for? Also while people ignore it, many retailers offered this at launch for free. Even now you can buy a 4 gb card and be set, plus play Motorstorm RC for free.

April 22, 2012 at 3:31 AMI bought the Vita on Launch day and wouldn’t be mad about a price drop coming now. I am happy with the console and I have played a ton of games so far. Having my Vita now and playing some of the amazing games (Lumines, Rayman, Uncharted,) outweighs waiting for the price to drop. It is expensive and I understand people can’t afford right now because times are tough but Sony isn’t in the business of making those who are unable to afford things happy. The 1st day I was able to preorder the Vita I did so which was sometime in June/July of last year. I traded in games and saved my money up until it was paid off including 16gb memory card and a few games. If someone wants something then they should save for a couple months. I don’t know why in the video game culture we feel the need to buy something the first day all the time and if we can’t afford it or it’s too far out of price range we complain about it instead of dealing with the fact that we don’t have the money to afford it or save our money until we earn it.
