Unconfirmed reports from Japan say the Japanese launch for the PlayStation Vita isn’t going as strong as Sony had initially hoped for.
According to several Japanese retailers, the PlayStation Vita has not sold out. Many consumers were able to get a PS Vita unit without pre-ordering. Normally Japanese people go crazy of a new gaming system and it is usually sells out everywhere during its launch date.
Reports from NeoGAF say that 85% of sales were for the Wi-Fi only model and 56& were for the 3G and Wi-Fi model. This means there are still quite a number of the 700,000 units left on store shelves for the PS Vita.
Some Japanese consumers have begun to complain about technical issue about the PS Vita too. Most of them are freezing issue and problems with the touchscreen.
Let’s hope none of these problems occur when the PS Vita launches everywhere else on February 22nd.
