Sony Pictures is aiming to close a deal that will allow the movie studio to develop a franchise based on Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed video games.
Sony Pictures is in the final steps in negotiating a deal that will allow them to make the distribute films based on the popular video game series. Ubisoft has been scouting over the last couple of months for a studio to adapt the franchise. Universal was the other studio interested in the project as well.
Sony Pictures and Ubisoft have yet to make an official announcement. This isn’t the first time Sony Pictures has adapted a film franchise based on a popular video game series. The studio has adapted the Resident Evil into four movies with a fifth one due for release in 2012.
