As we head into Easter Sunday today, Sony updated us once again with the status of the PlayStation Network service following its announcement of being hacked last night.
To better strengthen the security of the PlayStation Network servers, Sony has begun reconstructing its network infrastructure. The process is very time consuming and it might take longer than what the users are anticipating. They took this route to ensure that this won’t happen again in the future.
Today marks the fourth day that the PlayStation Network is down. Let’s hope with the new network infrastructure that they’re doing it, they will put hackers into their place and make their servers hack-proof.
Below is the official announcement of Sony:
We sincerely regret that PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been suspended, and we are working around the clock to bring them both back online. Our efforts to resolve this matter involve re-building our system to further strengthen our network infrastructure. Though this task is time-consuming, we decided it was worth the time necessary to provide the system with additional security.
We thank you for your patience to date and ask for a little more while we move towards completion of this project. We will continue to give you updates as they become available.
