Along with the Nintendo Switch Lite announcement today, Nintendo also revealed that a special Pokemon-themed version will be available in North America starting November 8. This special Pokemon-themed version is called Zacian and Zamazenta Edition and it will be available at a suggested retail price of $199.99.
“November is shaping up to be a big month for Pokémon fans, with the arrival of this special hardware followed by the launch of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games one week later,” said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser. “The Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta Edition will be a great gift for Pokémon fans who want to play the latest games on the go.”
The two Pokemon that are featured in the Pokemon-themed version of the Switch Lite are the two legendary Pokemon that will debut in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield this November.
As previously mentioned, the Nintendo Switch Lite is a much cheaper version in the Switch line-up that only focuses on portability. The new device will play all games in the robust Nintendo Switch library that support handheld mode, although some games will have restrictions. The standard edition of Nintendo Switch Lite will launch on September 20 at a suggested retail price of $199.99 and will be available in three different colors: yellow, gray, and turquoise.
