The Overwatch line of Nendoroids has been rather interesting. Not only is a Western IP rather unusual for Nendoroid figures, they’ve had mixed results. With them being overproduced and the popularity not being there, they routinely hit clearance prices, as low as a third their initial price, yet now the line is expanding.
Thus far every figure in the line has appeared in their “classic” costume. The fact GoodSmile and Blizzard felt the need to indicate that suggested there might be additional designs, which has now happened with D.Va.
Despite being one of the later additions, her second design is based off her Academy skin. Not exactly the most thrilling, if anything it’s very much so in their wheelhouse, but still nice to see the line expand in other directions. This version isn’t as robust, as it only two face plates, glasses, a gun, different leg and MEKA but it’s it a nice step forward for the line.
