Similar to the offerings of Dead or Alive 6 and Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, Bandai Namco is giving everyone a chance to play Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on March 20 free of charge through its Lite version.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Lite is the free-to-play version where players will have an opportunity to try it out. Think of it as a demo as there features and playable characters will be extremely limited. One of the contents that are included in the Lite version are five story episodes, and ability to take part in Online Battles and Online Quests.
Below are the details of the Lite version, via Bandai Namco:
New players entering Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 through the “Lite” version of the game will be able to experience the following:
- Play five story episodes—“Raditz’s Attack,” “The Saiyan Threat,” “Ruckus on Planet Namek,” “The Ginyu Force Strikes,” and “The Galactic Emperor”—from the main game.
- Take part in Online Battles and Online Quests – with the option to play against those with the full version of the game (Online events and expert missions will remain exclusive to owners of the full game).
- Compete in Hero Colosseum mode, with all content and online matches.
- Additionally, players will be able to transfer saved data from the “Lite” version to the full game if they choose to purchase the full version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
Players will be be playing the Lite Version and will somehow buy the full game later on will be able to transfer their save data.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. The Lite version of the game is currently not available for the Switch.
