With God Eater 3 set to release in a couple days on PS4 and PC, there has been a lot of requests for a Switch version of the game. With the series originating on the PlayStation Portable and the second releasing for Vita, it seems natural the third would appear on the Switch, something that has now been hinted at.
IGN Japan recently published an interview with God Eater series general producer Yusuke Tomizawa, who expressed his take on a possible Switch version in the near future.
Here’s an excerpt from IGN Japan’s interview:
Nintendo Switch works as a portable device and is quite popular. Are you currently considering bringing the game to Switch?
Yusuke Tomizawa: “Since [God Eater 3] was announced, we’ve heard a lot of feedback from fans saying, ‘We want God Eater on handheld as well.’ As I said earlier, with God Eater 3 we prioritized brushing up the quality, so it became a PlayStation 4 and PC title, but I think it’s necessary for us to listen to the voices of the fans to include options such as Switch.”
Yuya Tomiyama: “A lot of users can’t play games using a TV, and we’re always getting requests from people in that situation. We’re aware in that regard.”
Thanks to the Switch’s portability, it would be nice to play God Eater 3 on-the-go. It will now depend on how much demand there is for it to happen. Based on what Tomizawa said on the interview, it’s very likely that we may see a Switch version in the near future.
God Eater 3 will be available in North America and Europe on February 8 for both PlayStation 4 and PC. Those who are in Japan, the game is already available for the PlayStation 4.
