EA and DICE announced today that the Battle Royale mode for the much awaited Battlefield V will not be released until March of 2019.
In the roadmap that DICE released, Battlefield V will be getting eight maps and eight modes at launch, as well as the promised ‘War Stories’ single player mode. In December or January, more War Story content called ‘Overture’ will be released, followed by ‘Lightning Strikes’ in January through March. At the earliest, Trial By Fire will then be released (that is the Battle Royale Mode).
In addition, there will be small updates that will be released throughout next year that includes a practice range, vechicle cosmetics, missions, modes and locations.
It seems that there will be no competition for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Battle Royale Mode this Holiday season since Trial By Fire won’t be out until March of next year. That being said, at least Battlefield V will have a single-player mode that many have hoping Black Ops 4 would have.

As the Tides of War journey kicks off, each of its chapters will evolve and expand the battlefield. What will this mean to you as a player? Starting off in broad terms, below is what you can look forward to post-launch.
Evolving Gameplay: Thrilling ways of experiencing Battlefield V will be added through fresh Fortifications, and Reinforcements. Iconic WW2 hardware like vehicles, weapons, and gadgets will also be added.
New Experiences: Play through a new single-player War Story dubbed The Last Tiger, co-op with a friend in Combined Arms, do battle royale the Battlefield™ way in Firestorm, experience new game modes and Grand Operations, and hone your skills in the upcoming Practice Range.
An Expanding World: You’ll get to deploy on fresh maps as chapters bring new battlefields. Shortly after launch, this starts with Belgium and the Panzerstorm map with tank-focused gameplay, expanding to the battlefields of Greece – and the journey will continue.
Game Improvements: Quality of life updates will regularly improve Battlefield V, fix bugs, and balance the game.
Battlefield V will be released on November 20 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Origin. As always, check back with us near the release date for our coverage and review of the game.
