In just a few weeks left, the much awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will finally be released. While everyone is antsy and excited for the game to arrive, Rockstar Games have been steadily giving us more exciting new information about the game every week like videos to keep the hype at a steady pace.
While in every game that Rockstar Games has released in the past have pushed consoles to their limits like Grand Theft Auto V back in last generation, Red Dead Redemption 2 is expected to do the same, especially for the Xbox One X.
According to the recent Tweet from the Xbox France account, they have confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 has been optimized to run in native 4K resolution with HDR, on the highest possible console settings on the Xbox One X. Well, it’s not really that surprising as everyone is aware that the Xbox One X has the capability to do native 4K.

As for the PS4 Pro version, there has been no claim by Sony whatsoever if the game will be able to run at native 4K. Though looking at the specs of the PlayStation 4 Pro and being a slightly less powerful than the Xbox One X, it’s likely that the settings will need to be upscaled to 4K. Just like what other developers have been doing, it’s very possible that Red Dead Redemption 2 will run at checkerboard rendering.
Sure, there will be slight visual differences between PS4 PRo and Xbox One X when the game comes out on October 26 but players should know that Red Dead Redemption 2 will still deliver one of the best visuals in gaming this generation and many expect that it will push both consoles to its limit just like what they did with Grand Theft Auto V last generation.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on PS4 and Xbox One on October 26. Check back with us near the release date for our review and coverage of the game.
