Ubisoft just released one of its biggest games yet in 2018 with Far Cry 5 and the game already made a big impression with gamers living over in the UK. The game managed to have the biggest launch of the series thus far since the original game came out back in 2004.
As reported by Game Industry, the Easter Weekend made Far Cry 5 have the biggest launch in the UK ever for the franchise’s history. It appears many people in the UK bought the game to stay home over the long weekend to play it.
2018 has been a decent year for games so far with the likes of Dragon Ball FighterZ and Monster Hunter World coming out. However, Far Cry 5 has beat them both to be the biggest game launch in 2018 over in the UK. This is a feat that is likely to continue until maybe God of War PS4 releases later this month.
However, Far Cry 5 could still beat God of War in launch week sales thanks to it being released on Easter Weekend plus the game is also available on PC and Xbox One. God of War has a bigger hill to climb due to it being a PS4 exclusive only.
Speaking of PS4, over 60 percent of Far Cry 5’s sales were for the PS4 version. Bear in mind, this only takes into account physical copies that have been sold. The UK charts do not track digital sales.
The top 10 best selling games of the week are down below:
