Halo is one of the biggest gaming franchises out there and is synonymous to the Xbox brand. It helped make console FPS games popular and the franchise even spawned two games from the RTS genre. Now looking towards to the future, we might see a Halo VR video game get released as evident by a recent job listing that has been posted.
As seen on a post on LinkedIn, 343 Industries is currently looking for a Creative Director to join their team. The interesting part about the job description is that the person needs to be knowledgeable with VR technology. You can read the job description details posted down below.
“343 Industries is looking for a Creative Director to join us in delivering an all new VR experience in the Halo universe. Halo is known for its epic sci-fi worlds, its transmedia storytelling, and its heroic gameplay – VR brings the potential for a new level of immersion in our universe.”
The position is quite big mainly because you need to have over 7 years of experience as a creative director and have shipped at least one AAA title in your lifetime. 343 is no longer taking applications for the role, so it’s possible they are narrowing down the candidates already.
It’s hard to tell if VR will be a part of Halo 6, but this post does hint that some sort of Halo VR experience is coming in the near future. Halo fits perfectly in VR mainly because it is an FPS franchise.
