Big Ant Studios has released yet another update to AO Tennis this week that improves the gameplay. Not only that, but we also give you some advice on how to play the game since the physics have changed a lot since it launched back in January.
Anyway, here’s the information for patch update 1.17 for AO Tennis. The patch is just under 300 MB on the PS4 so it should not take you that long to install and download it. Info posted via the official Facebook page.
-Gameplay and AI balancing
-Right Stick Serving Mechanic tuned
-Line Judge decision making on in/out calls tuned
-Difficulty levels further balanced (Pro easier, Legend harder)
-Added Menu option to have aim marker only on serving
The new updates have also changed the physics making it much harder to play than ever before. Well we finally found out how to effectively play the game so that you can score more winners than unwanted unforced errors.
The best thing you can do is turn back on the stamina/balance meter again. This is the green circular HUD that tells you the timing of your shots.
Anyway to make sure your balls stay within in the lines, you have to press and hold one of the face buttons until the meter turns dark green. Once it turns dark green, then you let go of the button and the ball should stay within the lines of the court.
If the meter is yellow or red, it’s likely going to go out of bounds. Not to mention every player is different so timing your shots differs depending on who you are playing with.
If you want a decisive winner, it’s best to hold R2 and Circle (PS4) or Right Trigger and B (Xbox One) to hit a more powerful stroke. Again, make sure the meter is green so that you don’t hit it out.
It takes a lot of practice, but I managed to get a hang of it after many days of trial and error. If you are confident enough, you can turn the markers off and see if you can time the ball by just looking at the shot of the character models!
