Insomniac Game developers are now play testing Spider-Man PS4 to make sure the game is playable and fun before it launches later this year. Judging by some tweets from the developers, the game is fun and could be quite lengthy if you want to complete everything.
Design director for Spider-Man PS4, Brian Horton, tweeted out some small details on the playthroughs he has done on the game so far. It sounds like he has played the game three times already.
He said: “Finishing my third play through of #SpiderManPS4 @insomniacgames #Excelsior! #SpideySquad #LoveMyJob. Each play through has taken multiple days…long night ahead of me. Goin’ back in, Thwip.”
The fact that each playthrough took multiple days for him to complete means it should be a lengthy single player experience. We’ve seen a lot of quality single player experiences this generation which is great to see.
2017 was a banner year for single player video games. For the PS4, exclusives such as Nioh, Persona 5, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Gravity Rush 2 and more offered hours upon hours of gameplay.
The Nintendo Switch also had lengthy single player games with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 just to name a few.
2018 will continue with the single player games with God of War PS4 out soon. Spider-Man PS4 could be awesome since Insomniac Games made sure to take its time making the game.
Previous Spider-Man video games published by Activision were average mainly because they had to release it to coincide with a movie release. There’s no pressure for Insomniac Games to do this because the current MCU Spider-Man has nothing to do with this new game. The video game is 100% original with its own story and version of Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
