Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is the type of game that is fun to watch and even more fun to play. With lush visuals, cute enemies and simple controls, it’s really easy to get into.
What really stood out about the E3 demo is how much depth the simple controls offered. You can beat enemies up, juggle them, switch between standing and aerial attacks, plus much more. Beyond that, there are cute ways to get around. For instance, you can use your grab to get to the other side of the boss, making it easier to damage them or just get over painful obstacles.
While Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin looks to be in the early stages of development, with it expected to release in a year or two, it looks to be a fantastic title for side scroller beat em’ up fans. So if you enjoy things like Muramasa, you might want to keep an eye on Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin.
