The Warcraft movie is out now in many countries yet it looks like China is loving it more than anyone else. The movie is going to make a lot of money in China compared to the USA.
Warcraft only came out four days ago in China and it has made over $145 million already. It’s a new record for a Hollywood film in China as Furious 7 took $135 million in four days.
In the USA, things aren’t so rosy. The Box Office weekend is projected to be only $25.7 million. It’s not a bad number, but it’s low when you factor in that the movie cost $160 million to make.
Thanks to China and other countries, Warcraft could still break even as it could make over $500 million worldwide. Fans seems to like the movie more than critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, only 26% of critics liked it but 83% of the audience gave it a thumbs up. You have to be a big fan of the games in order to understand and enjoy it.
