Capcom officially confirmed today that the new Resident Evil 2 will be a “from the ground up remake” and not an HD remaster, just like what they did with Resident Evil Zero.
While the publisher’s investor report stated that the game would be a “remastered” version of the classic survival horror game, Stuart Turner, Capcom UK’s senior marketing officer said that it had been a “mistranslation”.
Seems to be a few people picking up a mistranslation in our own investor report. RE2 will be a full from the ground up remake NOT a remaster

Let’s hope we’ll hear more about the Resident Evil 2 remake in the near future. From the many Resident Evil games released, this one is my favorite and I can’t wait to see Leon and Claire back in action again.
