The Last of Us has been building up a collection of game of the year awards over the last month, while gamers have been anxiously awaiting the upcoming Left Behind DLC. This DLC will serve as a prequel to the original game focusing on Ellie and her best friend Riley, who is a brand new character. The official PlayStation blog sat down with the voice actor for Ellie, Ashley Johnson, who discussed how we will see the “real” Ellie in this new narrative DLC.
You kind of get to meet the real her. She’s in the quarantine zone prior to the events of The Last of Us — it’s her and her best friend Riley — what they do and how they live their lives in this world.
You’ll definitely see a more playful side to Ellie and get to know her a bit better. You’re going to see a lot of different sides to the character that you definitely didn’t see in The Last of Us. I’m excited for people to experience it!
She further discusses how this game is more like two girls hanging out in a post-pandemic world, which differs quite a bit from the original. She also teases that we’ll learn a lot about Ellie that we didn’t know before, so this DLC sounds like it will be very worth it.
The Left Behind DLC for The Last of Us does not have a set release date, but is said to be coming sometime in 2014.
