Sony has revealed it will make a loss when the PS4 goes on sale later this year.
This is according to a report from Eurogamer that states Sony will lose out $60 for every $399 PS4 console that is sold.
The news isn’t all bad because Sony expects to recoup the losses from the sales of software as well as PlayStation Plus subscriptions. PlayStation Plus subscriptions are needed to play PS4 games online so I’m sure more people will be willing to pay for it.
Sony is still optimistic the PS4 will become more profitable faster than the PS3 did. After all, $399 at launch is more attractive than the $599 that the PS3 was selling for when it went on sale back in 2006.
