Arguably one of the best features in A Way Out was the friend pass. With it you could play with whomever you wanted, provided they themselves wanted to play with you, without actually owning the game. This was a huge win and something that might be a more common thing in the future. Wolfenstein: Youngblood also features this, though here it’s referred to as the buddy pass, with the difference being it is unique to the deluxe edition of the game. Given it also gives players unique armor, it makes for a rather easy choice for $10 more. However, despite sounding cool, it might be confusing to use, so we’re here to tell you how to make it work.
Editors Note: Some physical buyers have mistaken the buddy code for a literal code. The one included with the physical game is the deluxe content and should be redeemed by the owner.
Before you can play with your friend, you obviously need to download the game itself. This holds true for your friend, but since they don’t own the game, they need to download the trial version. Once the game is installed, set up your characters and you’ll be able to host and join games.
To invite someone with the buddy pass, simply select play game, followed by host, make sure you’re online and finally invite. This will give them access to the game for as long as you’re playing with them.
