It is an understatement to say it has been a while since we’ve heard about the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake. First they decided to change a good percent of the base game, then it will release in pieces and now we’re just waiting for something to happen. Thankfully, today’s State of Play showcased what players can expect from the remake.
While very little was shown in the minute long trailer, it gives a good idea of what to expect from the title, with the end promising more information in June. This is almost certainly a reference to it being something Square Enix has on display or presents, but in the mean time, let’s just enjoy the enhanced visuals.
Additionally, producer Yoshinori Kitase has something to say, via the PlayStation Blog:
Finally…. the long awaited moment has come. Sorry to keep you all waiting so long!
We hope you enjoyed the footage shown during State of Play. It was quite short, but hopefully you enjoyed seeing Cloud and Aerith brought back to life with such realistic graphics.
And oh my god! Did you notice he was there too…?
We are preparing to release more official information in June, but we wanted to try something new here on State of Play by showing you this special trailer as a taste of what’s to come.
In a tweet, director Tetsuya Nomura added the following statement, “Most of the plans are already in place in the run up to launch, so please bear with us a little longer until we can release more information next month.”
Final Fantasy VII remake is still currently in development. Let’s wait until next month at E3 to hear more details of the game. Maybe we’ll get to see a release date finally?
Stay tuned for all updates and coverage during E3 week!
