Several weeks following the release of Kingdom Hearts 3, Square Enix announced today that the much awaited Critical Mode update will finally be released on April 23.
According to Nomura, there are certain things that have been changed from the previous games.
Here’s what Square Enix has to say about the update, via Twitter:
For those who have not played the game yet, here’s an overview:
KINGDOM HEARTS III tells the story of the power of friendship as Sora and his friends embark on a perilous adventure and support each other through difficult times. Set in a vast array of Disney worlds, KINGDOM HEARTS follows the journey of Sora, a young boy and unknowing heir to a spectacular power. Sora is joined by Donald and Goofy to stop an evil force known as the Heartless from invading and overtaking the universe. Through the power of positivity and friendship, Sora, Donald and Goofy unite with iconic Disney-Pixar characters old and new to overcome tremendous challenges and persevere against the darkness threatening their worlds.
To download the update, please make sure you are connected to either Xbox Live or PlayStation Network servers to have the patch downloaded automatically to your system. If for some reason it won’t download, launch the game while connected online to have a download prompt appear.
Critical Mode that Square Enix will release for Kingdom Hearts 3 will challenge players those who wish to play the game again at a much harder difficulty. It’s pretty similar to the Critical Mode from previous entry.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Please note that the game is enhanced for the Xbox One X and is PlayStation 4 Pro compatible- meaning it’s 4K capable for those who have a 4K TV. Sadly, there’s no HDR.
