Now that we’re at the second month following the removal of PlayStation 3 and Vita titles, we can better gauge what to expect from the program going forward. While there is no denying the games are at a slightly higher quality, at least in terms of original MSRP, it does not bode well for the future.
This months big hitter is The Surge. If this name sounds familiar, it was actually accidentally free close to a year ago, though that glitch included the ‘complete’ edition, which did not include the later expansion. Based off what Sony posted, this time it included none of the DLC, meaning players need to buy The Good, The Bad and The Augmented, along with A Walk in the Park expansions.
Outside of that, The Surge is actually a pretty interesting game. It’s designed similar to the ever popular Dark Souls/Bloodborne titles, with mixed impressions. On one hand, it can be very easy if you know what you’re doing or confusing if you’re not the best at paying attention to minor things and on the other many Souls fans dislike it. Largely because some of the design choices are punishing for the sake of punishing. Regardless, now players can decide if they agree or not, something I suggest you do, since The Surge 2 looks to be pretty interesting.
Joining it is the critically unsuccessful Conan Exiles. This title is similar to ARK, in that you need to survive in a savage wasteland. Many users have criticized the graphics, gameplay and more, though it still has a fair amount to do if you want to give it a go.
