Ragnarok M: Eternal Love is indeed one of the most popular mobile games in South East Asian regions when it launched late last year for both iOS and Android devices and with it being just released in North America, it’s no doubt that Ragnarok fever is still on worldwide. Despite the popularity of the game across the globe, it faces flak in regards to the recent hacks that have been happening in the game.
Earlier this year, the news of certain users using add-ons to play Ragnarok M: Eternal Love has emerged. The add-ons in question is developed by a third party where it gives other users an advantage in hunting MVPs (bosses), allowing them to warp at the time the boss spawns, opening up shop whenever they want, and other perks that clearly gives advantage to them apart from others. A lot have noticed that the issue has been widespread but was disappointed in how Gravity handles them.
For people who have been using add-ons for quite sometime, they have only been sanctioned to receive fifteen-days ban from the service, despite the fact that it’s clearly stated in the Terms of Condition that any use of third party software will be permanently banned. This draws flak to the company where a lot of people say that it’s not fair as it makes an unfair environment for the community that up until now supports the game.
Others also questioned how come when other users do a refund on their purchase within the game, they are automatically permanently banned whereas those who use add-ons are given chances. In my opinion, it’s really unfair, as if this were other companies or MMOs, the use of third party software to clearly alter the game code is an offense where permanent ban is a sanction.
Currently, the Ragnarok M: Eternal Love community is in chaos. With the developers failing to issue an appropriate punishment for cheaters or add-on users, many players are voicing out their concerns on their official Facebook page but sadly, it seems the people behind the game are simply turning a blind eye and are being to lenient to these cheaters.
Will this negatively affect Ragnarok M: Eternal Love in the long run if they continue to ignore the issues? It’s very likely as businesses like this tend to not stay for a long time – especially when balance and fairness in the game is compromised.
