Microsoft is pleased to announce at this year’s X018 event that Obsidian Entertainment is now part of their growing studios that promises to develop games in the near future.
Obsidian Entertainment is an indie-developer that worked with previous publishers in developing blockbuster games such as Alpha Protocol for Sega, Star Wars: The Old Republic 2, and Fallout: New Vegas for Bethesda. In addition, they also developed the recently released Pillars of Eternity I and II for PC via Steam.
With the growing list of developers that promised to deliver games exclusively to Xbox One, Obsidian Entertainment is the thirteenth announced studio that Microsoft have owned this year. With their expertise in Western role-playing games, fans of the genre has something to be excited about in the coming years.
Currently, Obsidian Entertainment or neither has Microsoft have announced what games they are working on. However, knowing that Obsidian Entertainment is now part of the Xbox One family makes it the Xbox franchise a lot more promising in the near future. Hopefully before the new generation of Xbox One kicks in, we will get to experience their exclusive masterpiece.

From the two games listed above, Fallout: New Vegas is also backwards compatible to Xbox One.
In addition to Obsidian Entertainment, Microsoft also acquired another studios called InExile, that brought us hit RPGs like Tormnet and Wasteland 2.
