Rockstar Games finally confirmed today the amount of data that will be needed in order to play the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 for both PS4 and Xbox One.
For weeks, there have been a lot of rumors as to how much data the game will require to install it on your console. Today, it’s finally confirmed and it’s close to what the rumored hard drive space requirement is.
For those who who will be buying the physical version for the PS4,it will require a 99GB of data whereas the Xbox One will require 107GB. Digital buyers will yield something different especially on PS4. Initially, a 99GB installation will be required but an additional 50GB will be needed for the installation process. The Xbox One version remains the same at 107GB.

Answer: The amount of space required to install Red Dead Redemption 2 depends on the platform you are using, and the method of installation:
Disc Installation:
PS4 – 99 GB installation space
Xbox One – 107 GB installation spaceDigital Installation:
PS4 – 99 GB installation space with an additional 50GB for the installation process
Xbox One – 107 GB installation space
Before purchasing Red Dead Redemption 2, make sure you have enough hard drive space requirement as the game will require a lot of it. Regardless if you are getting physical or digital, you will need at least 100GB of storage space left.
As for the rumor of Red Dead Redemption 2 being in two discs, the company still haven’t released a statement about it. But then- it’s possible that the game will indeed be in two discs for physical version buyers as there’s no way a 99GB of data can fit in a dual-layered blu-ray disc.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available next week, October 26, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
