Capcom has announced today more details about the Monster Hunter movie that will be made in the near future. The movie will be directed by Paul W.S. Anderson who helmed most of the Resident Evil movies in the past.
While not many details are known about the Monster Hunter movie yet, we have the first details of what the plot is going to be about. You can read the details in the press release posted below.
“After living and breathing in the universe of Monster Hunter for 14 years we are thrilled with enormous anticipation to see our creations adapted for a theatrical release,” said Monster Hunter Series Producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto “Monster Hunter’s fan base has exploded over the past year with the runaway success of the game Monster Hunter: World™. It is our hope long-time fans and new alike will join us on this exciting exploration of the Monster Hunter universe.
Tentatively dubbed, MONSTER HUNTER, the film tells the story of two heroes who come from different worlds to defeat a shared danger, the powerful, deadly and magnificent monsters that inhabit the land. Along the way viewers will make new discoveries and encounter familiar faces and beloved characters from the games like the Admiral.
Paul W.S. Anderson is also writing the movie and producing it along with Jeremy Bolt from Impact Pictures, and by Robert Kulzer and Martin Moszkowicz from Constantin Film. Another producer on the film includes Dennis Berardi. Paul W.S. Anderson is a huge fan of video games so hopefully he’s able to adapt the movie version of Monster Hunter that fans will be proud of.
Filming is set to start this October. Actors attached to the project include the likes of Milla Jovovich, Ron Pearlman, Tony Jaa and Diego Boneta. No release date has been announced yet, but hopefully the movie is released soon.
