Microsoft has now announced that a new Xbox One update is now rolling out to all owners. It includes new Avatars for you to use and more extra features.
All of the big announcements about the Xbox One update were made by Microsoft over on its official Xbox Wire blog. My favorite addition is the inclusion of all-new Xbox Avatars.
Features
Avatars were a huge part of the Xbox 360 generation and it’s great to have them back. Microsoft has made sure to include lots of options so that you can create an avatar that suits your own preferences. You can also use the photobooth feature in order to use your avatar as your Gamerpic.
You can even set your avatar to the original Xbox one you made from the Xbox 360 era if you don’t feel like making an upgrade to your existing character. The Xbox Original Avatars app is available both on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.
If you live in USA, the ‘Xbox Skill’ for Cortana and Alexa will also be available too. This feature will allow users to “use their voice to navigate and interact with Xbox through Cortana and Alexa-enabled devices – expanding voice navigation beyond previous Kinect and headset capabilities.”
For a limited time, Microsoft is also adding in a free Amazon Echo Dot if you buy an Xbox One S or Xbox One X device. This offer is only valid for a limited time!
Also added to the new update today is “Dolby Vision” video streaming on your Xbox One console. You can pretty much view videos in enhanced HDR which is to improve the color of your screen better than normal HDR.
Lastly, new languages have been added to the ‘Narrator’. These languages include Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, Dutch and even Australian English. Make sure to download the new update as soon as you can!
