As you are journeying through Edrea to find out more about the Luminary and seeking ways to defeat the Dark One in Dragon Quest XI, you will come across a mysterious red door in your travels that are locked. Behind these red doors is treasure that will be worth your time but unfortunately, it won’t be accessible until you are midway through the game.
The Red Doors that are scattered throughout Edrea can only be opened by the Magic Key. It is obtained automatically after defeating the boss and clearing the story event in Phnom Nonh.

Dragon Quest XI Red Door Locations
The Hotto Steppe
In the Hotto Steppe lies a locked red door. With the Magic Key, you can unlock it and receive the treasure – Banishing Blade.
Puerto Valor
Inside the red door in Puerto Valor lies the following item – Falcon Knife Earring. It’s a perfect weapon for Erik!
Gondolia
You will find another red door in the city of Gondolia. Inside you will find the following treasures: Divine Designs Recipe Book, Diemend, Seed of Magic, and a Mini Medal.
Insula Occidentalis
Use the ship to go to one of the islands in Edrea called Insula Occidentalis to find a red door. Inside will give you the following treasure – Falcon Blade.
L’Academie De Notre Maitre des Medailles
Inside the Academy lies a red door with a bunch of treasure – Uniforme de L’Academie, Seed of Skill, and a Mini Medal.
Phnom Nonh
A Red door can be found in the city of Phnom Nonh. Inside it lies the following treasures – Secrets of the Silversmith Recipe, and a Phial Sage of Elixir.
Gallopolis City
You will find the Red Door in the Gallopolis City near the Bazaar. Inside you will find the treasures – Making the Magic Happen Recipe, 2000 G, Seed of Skill.
Dundrasil Region (South)
In the southern part of Dundrasil Region, you will find the Red Door that will give you – 3 Mini Medals.
Lonalulu
In the upper cliff of Lonalulu is a red door that have the following treasures – Zombie Mail, Seed of Life, and Mini Medal.
Zwaardsrust – Ruins
Find the red door in one of the ruins of Zwaardsrust where it’s a path leading below. You will find the following treasures – Classy Clobber for Kingly Kids Recipe, Purple Orb, Enchanted Stone (Material).
Insula Centralis
Another red door lies in one of the islands of Edrea called Insula Centralis. A treasure chest will contain the following – Sainted Soma (Material).

Remember that Red Door you first found in Cobblestone? Go to it again with your Red key to get the following item – Wristorative.
