The world in Dragon Quest XI is so vast that wherever you go, the weather may be different from one place to another. With the weather in-game having an effect to which monster spawns and quests relying at a certain season, it’s important to know ahead of time what the weather is. Luckily, there’s a weather forecaster that is available throughout Edrea and it’s through a cow.
While there isn’t really an in-game clock, players will have to rely on the compass-like clock when you press the SQUARE button. From there, you will see if the time is about to change from day to night. With quests only available at a certain time of day, players can fast forward time by sleeping at the Inn or at camps and choosing what time you want to wake up.
Now that players know how to change the time of day, it’s now time to figure out how to predict the weather.
By talking to the cows that are available throughout Edrea, they will tell you in advance what weather to expect the next day or at a later time. Carefully read what the cow has to say and when the cow says that it’s going to rain tomorrow, head to the Inn or rest at a camp site to fast forward to the next day.
As a bonus treat of finding all cows in Edrea, players will unlock the Mooteorologist Trophy!
Without further ado, here are the locations of the Cows:

The Emerald Coast
The Emerald Coast
You will find a Cow on the northwestern side of The Emerald Coast. If you have previously been to this area, simply Zoom and head west.
The Manglegrove
The Manglegrove 1
There are actually two Cows in The Manglegrove. The first one is just past the camp site where the Woodcutter lives and the other just south near the toolshop.

Laguna Di Gondolia
Laguna di Gondolia
Just before you head to the swampy area of Laguna Di Gondolia, find your cow eating grass on the westernmost side of the map.
Snaerfelt Region

From the campsite of Snaerfelt Region, head north and you will see the cow.
Sniflheim Region

When you zoom in Sniflheim City, just go outside the town by going east and you will see the cow just outside the town.
Southern Champs Sauvage Region

The easiest way to find the cow in Southern Champs Sauvage is by Zooming in Phnom Nonh and just outside the village, a little bit to the swamp, you will find your cow.
Zwaardsrust Region

The Cow in Zwaardsrust Region can be found just south of The Warrior’s Rest Inn.
Dundrasil Region

Zoom to the Dundrasil Campsite and just around there, you will find the cow near a tree.
