In the eight playable characters of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, each of them have a different set of outfits that you can acquire in the game. Each of these outfits have different passive abilities that adds to the overall stats of the each character. Some adds HP, while others increase resistance to status ailments such as bedazzled, or missing a turn. In addition, each of these outfits have a different look that adds flair when using them in battle.
For Trophy hunters, acquiring all costumes or outfits is a requirement to unlock the trophy; Dedicated Follower of Fashion. There are several outfits that you can get in the game. Others can be found through a recipe, while others can be acquired after meeting certain conditions. Without further ado, here’s our Dragon Quest XI All Costumes / Outfits guide.
Dragon Quest XI Outfits
Luminary
1. Villager’s Costume
The villager’s costume can be obtained in the closet of your house in Cobblestone after it has been rebuilt.
2. Mardi Garb
Automatically acquired
3a. Irwin Armor Set
Reward for freeing Irwin from the monster for the second time in the Dundrasil Underground. (Post-Game)
3b. Drasilian Armor Set
The alternate version of Irwin Set. Its recipe called Dress Like a Drasillian can be acquired in the Ruins of Dundrasil.
4. Erdwin Set
Erdwin’s Tunic can be found on the first floor of The Luminary’s Trial – Citadel Spite. For the Erdwin’s Circlet, it’s located on the third floor.
5. Trodain Set
Automatically acquired at the beginning of the game.
6. Traveller’s Hood
Found in the cabinet inside the church of Gallopolis
7. Gallopitan Garb
Reward for completing the Easy Horse Race
Sylvando
1. Dapper Set
The Dapper Set can be acquired by crafting it. The recipe is called The Dapper’s Chap and it’s a reward from a quest called, Skincare for the Fierce and Fabulous.
2. Mardi Garb
Similar to the Luminary’s Mardi Garb, the ones for Sylvando is acquired automatically.
3a. Glad Rags Set
The Glad Rags set can be acquired by crafting it. The recipe is called Glam Gear for Go-Getters’ and it’s a reward from a quest called, Madame Labouche’s Life Lesson
3b. Gladder Rags set
The more powerful version of Glad Rags set can be acquired by crafting it. The recipe can be obtained after collecting 90 mini medals.
4. Dashing Doublet set
Recipe can be earned in the event in the Octagonia casino.
Serena
1. Dancer Set
Purchase the Dancer costume from the vendor in Gallopolis City
2. L’Academie Uniform
Can be acquired in L’Academie
3. Dainty Set
When you arrive in Puerto Valor for the first time, approach a man in a red robe to receive the recipe, All Things Nice.
4. Serenica Set
The most powerful set for Serena is the Serenica Set and it’s acquired in the Sage’s Trial. The Circlet is first found in one of the treasure chests in the Sage’s Trial – The Fierce Forest. The robe, aka Serenica’s Surplice, can be found in The Luminary’s Trial – Citadel of Spite – Level 1. It’s in the same room where you have found Erdwin’s Tunic.
5. Ring of Change
If you want Serena to have that short hair again, ask Drustan for it when you complete one of his trial near the end of the game.
6. Sacred set
Recipe can be found in locked door in Insula Incognita that can be opened with an Ultimate Key.
Rab
1. Sun King Set
The Sun King set for Rab can be acquired by crafting. You will need to win the third trial in The Wheel of Harma in Angri-La.
2a. Drasilian Set
The Drasilian Set can be acquired by crafting. To get the recipe, King for a King, you must exchange a total of 30 Little Medal to the Headmaster of the L’Academie.
2b. Yggrasil Set
The most powerful set for Rab and the alternate version of Drasilian set is the Yggdrasil set and its recipe can be found in one of the treasure chests in The Sage’s Trial – The Fierce Forest.

Recipe found after winning the Wheel of Harma: Final Trial
Veronica
1. Cat Costume
The Cat Costume for Veronica can be bought in the armor shop of Gondolia.
2. Stellar Set
Right after you have cleared the story in Octagonia where you defeated once again the Arachtagonia (post-game), find Synderalla and Whambelin in the Casino to get the Stellar Set.
3. L’Academie Uniform
Can be acquired in L’Academie
4. Eternity Set
The most powerful set for Veronica is the Eternity Set. The recipe is found in the first floor of The Sage Trial – The Hoarder’s Keep.
5. Cut Cap set
A NPC in Puerto Valor will give you the recipe for Cute Cap and Pretty Pinny.
Jade
1. Bunny Set
2a. The Warrior Princess Set
The Warrior Princess Set can be acquired by crafting. The recipe is located in the Fortress of Fear – Level 1.
2b. Minerva’s Set
The Minerva Set is an alternate version of the Warrior Princess set and is more powerful can be acquired by crafting. The recipe is located in the Battleground – Level B9 and it’s locked behind the door that requires the use of Ultimate Key.
3. Xenion Hair Ring & Dress
Complete the fourth trial in the Wheel of Harma to obtain the recipe.
4. Divine Bustier
Purchase the outfit in Gondolia where you have purchased the Cat Suit.
5. Hot Bikini
Purchase the bikini for 150,000 tokens in Octagonia Casino.
6. Scandalous Swimsuit
Purchase the swimsuit in Octagonia casino for 70,000 tokens
Hendrik
1. The General Set
The Genera Set can be acquired by crafting. The recipe is located in the Fortress of Fear – Level 3.
2. Hendrik’s Armor
Automatically acquired when Hendrik joins your party in post-game story.
3. Drustan’s Set
Drustan’s Armor can be found in The Luminary’s Trial – Citadel of Spite – Level 1. It’s one of the three chests where you get Erdwin’s Tunic and Serenca’s Splicer. The Drustan’s Helm can be acquired in one of the treasure chest in The Disciple Trial – The Eerie Valley – Cave.
4. Field Marshall set
Open the locked door with the Ultimate Key in Cryptic Crypt.
Erik
1. Swindler’s Set
The Swindler Set can be acquired by crafting. The recipe is called ‘Sweet Stuff for Swindler’ and it’s a reward from the quest ‘Shiver me Timbers’ in Puerto Valor.
2. Pirate King Set
The Pirate King’s Coat can be acquired by the old man who told you about about the fisherman problems. Once you do what he wants, return to him to receive the coat. For the headgear, buy it from the tool shop in Cobblestone after rebuilding it.
3. Swindler King set
Go to Heliodor Prison and open the locked door with the Ultimate Key to get the recipe.
The Pirate King Set for Erik—where is this fisherman? Why not be more specific?
He’s in Lonalulu by the pier/docks. Are you in post-game story yet where he asked you to save Kai in The Last Strand?
There’s another craftable outfit for Rab, King something. You can get it during the main game. Cat suit is also not from the armor shop, it’s from a masked guy in the opposite side of the shops. He sells it for 10k in Gondolia.
I added the following:
– Drasilian Outfit for Rab (the weaker version of the Yggdrasil Set)
– Minerva Set for Jade (the stronger version of Warrior Princess).

There’s still one missing for Rab. The recipe can be acquired from the final trial of Wheel of Harma. I’ll update it later
You are missing a costume for luminary. You get it in the desert town where sylvando is. It’s a reward for winning the silver cup horse race. I don’t remember what it’s called.
Hendrik’s armor can be obtained earlier(before post game) from the catsuit seller in Gondolia.
Pirate kings coat can be bought from the shark in Nautica
