It has been announced today that Darkseid will be playable in the LEGO DC Super-Villains video game that is coming out next month. Many people will know him as the big bad guy from the Justice League comic books.
An interesting announcement also today is that Darkseid will be voiced by none other than Michael Ironside. Gamers may recognize this name because he is the voice of Sam Fisher from Ubisoft’s popular Splinter Cell series of video games. Anyway, you can read the press release below for more details about Darkseid joining LEGO DC Super-Villains.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, The LEGO® Group and DC Entertainment today revealed a new LEGO® DC Super-Villains clip that focuses on longtime Justice League nemesis Darkseid, voiced by Michael Ironside, as he goes toe-to-toe with the best of the bad, including The Joker, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor and countless others, for control of the planet.
In addition to Ironside as Darkseid, LEGO® DC Super-Villains features a stellar voice-over cast, including Mark Hamill (The Joker), Kevin Conroy (Batman), Fred Tatasciore (Clayface, Doomsday, Killer Croc), Gina Torres (Superwoman), Brandon Routh (Shazam), Gilbert Gottfried (Mister Mxyzptlk), Mark Rolston (Deathstroke), Scott Porter (Aquaman), Julie Nathanson (Silver Banshee), Michael Rosenbaum (Flash), Tara Strong (Harley Quinn), C. Thomas Howell (Reverse-Flash), Cissy Jones (Lois Lane), Clancy Brown (Lex Luthor), Wally Wingert (Riddler), Tasia Valenza (Poison Ivy), Tom Kane (Commissioner Gordon), Lex Lang (Deathstorm), Travis Willingham (Superman), JB Blanc (Penguin, Ra’s al Ghul) and Eric Bauza (Mister Freeze), among many others.
Darkseid was set to appear in live action form in Justice League 2, but sadly that movie has been indefinitely delayed. It would have been interesting to see the character on the big screen for the very first time. Instead, Steppenwolf was just added as the main bad guy in the first Justice League movie that came out late last year.
LEGO DC Super-Villains releases on October 19th, 2018 for the PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch platforms. Check out the small trailer of Darkseid kicking butt down below.
