Bandai Namco has now announced that the character of Android 17 will be featured in the Dragon Ball FighterZ video game. He will be DLC out next week along with the character Cooler.
The new DLC for Dragon Ball FighterZ will be out on September 27th, 2018 which is one day before the Nintendo Switch version of the game comes out on September 28th, 2018. You can read a small biography for the character below as posted by Bandai Namco.
“Android 17 joins the amazing cast of Dragon Ball FighterZ as the next DLC to be released together with Cooler on September 27th. The cool-headed android 17 uses multiple barrier techniques and long-range ki blast attacks to deal with almost all situations. Nothing less to expect from the winner the Tournament of Power! His strongest move is the Super Electric Strike, a large-scale swirl of energy that can be executed both on the ground and mid-air. ”
Android 17 originally appeared in Dragon Ball Z in the Android saga along with his sister Android 18. They were first introduced in the series as villains, but they eventually turned good once everyone knew that Cell was the main bad guy that needed to be defeated.
Android 17 was gone for a while, but he came back many years later to be a part of Dragon Ball Super. Universe 7 needed more fighters on the team and Goku managed to recruit him. Android 17 became very important because he was the eventual winner and sole survivor of the Tournament of Power contest. Dragon Ball FighterZ will include him wearing his Dragon Ball Super attire.
As for Cooler, he was announced for the game a few weeks ago. Cooler is the older brother of Frieza and his first appearance was in an old Dragon Ball Z animated movie.
Anyway, Dragon Ball FighterZ is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version of the game is coming out on September 28th, 2018. You can check out the new trailer below.
