Nintendo is pleased to announce today that the remake version of Luigi’s Mansion will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on October 12 and October 19 in Europe for $39.99.
Fans who missed out on Luigi’s Mansion back when it was released on the Nintendo Gamcube several years ago, the game follows the story of Luigi as he enters a haunted mansion filled with ghosts. The only weapon that he can rely on is his handy-dandy vaccuum where it can suck up ghosts.
Here’s a brief overview of Luigi’s Mansion for the Nintendo 3DS:
In the Luigi’s Mansion game, a Nintendo 3DS remake of the spooky Nintendo GameCube game, Luigi must enter a sprawling mansion equipped with nothing but his trusty flashlight and Poltergust 3000, a vacuum-like contraption used to capture ghosts, find treasure and solve puzzles.
This is the first time the Nintendo GameCube classic can be played on the go. This updated version of the game includes the same classic adventure, but with some added features perfect for Nintendo’s popular portable systems. Using the bottom touch screen on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, players can view the mansion map.
In the new Gallery Battle Mode, exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS version of the game, Luigi will have the ability to re-challenge boss ghosts that were defeated in the game.
Since the Nintendo Gamecube is rare now and would be near-impossible to get a copy of Luigi’s Mansion on disc, getting the 3DS version might the only choice Luigi fans have now. As for those looking for the Switch version, there’s currently no announcement or hint that will appear on the console but we’re hoping Gamecube games will soon appear on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch.
To recap, Luigi’s Mansion remake will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on October 12 in North America and October 19 in Europe for $39.99. As always, check back with us near the release date for our review of the game
