Sometimes figuring out the right path to the end can be a nightmare. Cross Edge made it a complex series of winning, losing and doing specific tasks that the average person is not going to stumble on. Other times it’s obvious but the hard part isn’t figuring out the problem, it’s getting it done. In Guacamelee! 2, it’s the latter.
Needless to say, all you need to do is find all the key fragments and possibly open the gate, finish the last puzzle and finally hear the special message. While I can’t confirm if opening the gate is enough, I would assume you need to complete the terrible final mission, something that is required if you want all the trophy/achievements. Since the hardest part is figuring out how to complete each puzzle, this guide will help you navigate it.
Editor’s Note: Even though I wrote out the solution to every puzzle, I strongly suggest just watching the video guide. It will make more sense, with the written guide being a good reference to what is happening, in the event you don’t understand the video.

Templo de Jade
While Los Managlares isn’t the hardest key piece, it’s a good introduction to the difficulty of collecting them. The issue is simple. Maintain near perfect timing across a variety of traps, while also doing them a very specific way. This poses two rather annoying problems. Maintaining a constant state of perfect, at least in relation to where you stand between lava, timing and knowing what to expect. Needless to say, this is probably not a stage anyone will beat on their first attempt and something I strongly suggest checking the video guide for assistance doing.
The idea behind the puzzle is simple. For the first two or three sections you just need to run forward and launch whenever possible. Once you get to the spot with two fairly large holes, get ready to transform into a chicken, run under the lower area and then transfer back. Repeat the previous tactic until after you finish the second part of the three platform area, followed by transforming. After getting past the gap, you need to jump and glide down the ramp. This is probably the hardest part in terms of timing, so don’t get discouraged if you mess up. Once you get past the jumping segment, which should be done as a human, you just need to safely avoid the spikes, regardless of timing and you’ll reach the end.
VS Zope and Cactuardo
Since this part is story related, I’m only including it so readers won’t be confused. If you’re having issues with the fight, you need to first fight Zope, who has the same basic skills as Juan’s chicken form. Avoid a couple moves, hit Zope following and maintain a combo for as long as possible.
Eventually Cactuardo will join the fight, which involves picking a direction, waiting for him to jump, running under, followed by wall running up the wall, launching near Zope’s location and hitting him off. This will stun him allowing you to deal damage. I suggest ignoring everything but it really doesn’t matter. Repeat until the fight ends.
Needless to say, this is, by a wide margin, the easiest key piece in the game.
Infierno
This key piece comes down to near flawless execution. What you need to do is kill the time explosion enemies, without messing up or going your own way. Sadly, it sounds harder than it is. While you can find a written explanation below, the video guide will make so much more sense.
Section 1
For this section you need to jump on the platform, melee the enemy, repeat, dash and then rooster kick, followed by another jump and then drop down. Jump off that platform onto the small opening to the right and finally launch to a final jump and rooster kick.
Section 2
Start by entering the room and raising the lava just high enough to wall run up to hit the first enemy with a head-butt and make sure to change timelines as soon as you’re no longer touching it. If you do it right, you should be able to jump across and wall run up to kill all the enemies. After killing them, use rooster kick to get on the above platform and move across. You can ignore every enemy that isn’t on your direct path, do whatever you want to kill the first two, rooster kick to get the third and then drop down, kick twice, fall a little, jump and then rooster kick to get the last enemy.
Run up the wall and then fly off it to get the enemies, followed by dropping down on top of the next set. Jump up, kill the enemy, leap to the wall, fly across, jump and then rooster kick to get on the platform/kill the enemy. Jump onto the right wall, run up, fly across, jump down and then leap to the next platform. Ignore every enemy, jump to the wall, run, fly across, jump, rooster kick, dash punch though the enemy to the wall, run up and then fly to the end.
Los Manglares
Unlike the previous keys, this one is more about your fighting prowess. The upside is there isn’t much to explain, as it’s extremely straightforward, with the downside being you need to defeat three Jaguars and there is only one checkpoint.
For this one I strongly suggest taking it slow, focus on major threats and try to defeat each Jaguar before focusing on the next one.
Tule Treetops Top
If you played Guacamelee!, then you likely remember the annoying ascend the tree level. This is basically another go at that. Thankfully, this level is extremely straightforward, to the point where I’m not going to explain it. The only section you might have issues with is getting past the chicken part near the funnel looking section. To get past that you just need to slide off the furthest part and then launch yourself up twice. If done correctly, you’ll get to the above platform.
The Crucible
If you’re a fan of the chicken puzzles, you’re in luck, since this is basically a really long one of those. Thankfully, unlike the previous sections, there is comprised of many smaller puzzles, meaning players don’t have as much pass/fail, though many of the puzzles are far harder than than the previous sections.
For this one it really comes down to timing and finesse, since so many of the puzzles hinge on pushing the right thing at the right time, meaning it’s impossible to really explain without showing, so please check out the video.
If you do manage complete it, you’ll get the message and a power up needed to 100 percent every area. The most easily missed collectibles require this power and are located at the start of this stage, way out in the upper part.
