The PlayStation brand came into the world back in 1995 and since that time we have been greeted to a lot of great exclusives. Well no other exclusive has sold at a faster rate than the recent God of War which came out on PS4 just a few months ago.
In an email sent to IGN, NPD Group’s Mat Piscatella stated that God of War is the fastest selling PS4 exclusive of all time. Not only that, but the game is the fastest selling PlayStation exclusive since NPD started tracking data back in 1995.
The previous record holder was the original PS3 release of The Last of Us which came out back in 2013. There’s a chance The Last of Us 2 might break the record, but for now GOW is the current fastest seller.
NPD predicts that the new GOW game will continue to sell lots of copies up until the rest of 2018. That said, Sony has one more big exclusive to release later this year in the form of Spider-Man PS4.
