Supposedly to be announced sometime tomorrow, August 16, Forbes leaked the news a day early that Blizzard will finally be releasing Diablo III: Eternal Collection for the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2018.
The Diablo III: Eternal Collection for Nintendo Switch will include the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions plus all of the other contents added to Diablo III following its release.
For those who have played the PS4 and Xbox One version, the exact version will be released for Switch sometime this year, except for exclusive bonuses that will be released alongside the game:
– “Legend of Ganondorf” cosmetic armor set
– “Tri-Force” portrait frame
– “Chicken” pet
– “Echoes of the Mask” cosmetic wings
Similar to its console counterpart, the Switch version of Diablo III will allow players to play up to four players on a single Switch, up to four players locally using different Switch, and an online multiplayer. There will also be support for cloud saving.
Here’s a brief overview of the game via the listing found on PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace:
Generations of gamers have battled the demonic hordes of Diablo, and now it’s your turn to take part in the action-RPG legacy. This Eternal Collection features Diablo III, the Reaper of Souls expansion set and the Rise of the Necromancer pack—all together in one definitive volume. Prepare yourself, mortal hero. The hellgates are opening.
For those who have missed out on Diablo III back when it was released several years ago, definitely consider getting the Switch version as it offers the portability of playing the game anywhere, and of course being able to continue playing at home using the dock mode. Since it’s pretty much the same version that was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, those who probably played it before will have no point in picking it up for Switch.
Diablo III: Eternal Collection is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
