There Were Still A Lot Of Games Missing At E3 2018

All of the big game publishers’ press conferences are now over and a lot of new games were announced and revealed for the very first time. Despite a slate of new games, there are some franchises that were sadly missing at E3 2018.

Usually rumored “leaks” are revealed prior to E3 2018, but none of those rumored video games were shown at the actual event. Here are some of the games that we have yet to see in more detail.

New Splinter Cell

Back in May 2018, Walmart Canada’s website leaked listings for lots of unannounced games at the time. The ones that ended up being true were Rage 2, Gears 5, Just Cause 4, a new Assassin’s Creed and Forza Horizon 4. One of the games on Walmart’s listing was for a new Splinter Cell.

Sadly though, Ubisoft already held its press conference at E3 2018 and there was no mention of a new Splinter Cell. It’s quite sad there’s no new news about a Splinter Cell game because it’s already been five years since the release of Splinter Cell Blacklist in 2013.

Rocksteady’s Superman video game

It’s been three years since Rocksteady released Batman: Arkham Knight and many gamers are wondering what the studio’s next game will be about. Many people speculate that the studio’s next big video game will be based on the character of Superman.

Some fake photos “leaked” prior to E3 2018 that got some people excited as everyone thought a Superman announcement was imminent. However, Rocksteady did not announce a new game and Superman is nowhere to be found at the moment. Hopefully Rocksteady makes a Superman game in the future as the Man of Steel’s gaming history has been shoddy.

Mortal Kombat 11

Famous YouTube personalities such as Angry Joe and Maximilian Dood were almost certain that Mortal Kombat 11 would be announced since it’s already been three years since the release of Mortal Kombat X.

Well all of the press conferences have come and gone and no new Mortal Kombat game was announced at any capacity. Prior to E3 2018, we just got news of Team Ninja releasing Dead or Alive 6 in early 2019 while a release date for Soulcalibur VI was announced today. Maybe Warner Bros will announce Mortal Kombat 11 at a later date instead to avoid a crowded market.

Core Pokemon RPG and Metroid Prime 4

While a lot of things were announced at Nintendo’s E3 2018 announcement, the two major games missing were the next big core RPG Pokemon game and Metroid Prime 4. Nintendo has since announced that the E3 2018 reveals were for games releasing now until early 2019. It sounds like we won’t be hearing much about both games until much later in 2019!

Skate 4

EA continues to disappoint fans year in and year out by not announcing another Skate video game. It’s been eight years since the release of Skate 3, yet EA stubbornly never wants to make another game in the series. Well it’s not all bad news because ‘Session’ was revealed at Microsoft’s press conference which is a new skateboarding video game heading to Xbox One in the near future.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Everyone celebrated three years ago when Square Enix finally announced the development of Final Fantasy 7 Remake at E3 2015. Since that time though, little other information has been revealed about the game. The game has missed several E3 shows in a row and it sounds like Square Enix had to even restart its development. Hopefully more progress is made for the game at next year’s E3.

Anyway, this is just a small number of games that people wanted to see at E3 2018 but didn’t show up. I’m probably missing a lot of other video games people wish to see like Borderlands 3, Ape Escape 4, MediEvil remake and more.
