Originally, the release date for Crackdown 3 was set for Fall 2017 to coincide with the release of the then new Xbox One X console. Now it sounds like the game is getting delayed once again which will further make Xbox’s first party lineup look anaemic.
Sources tell Kotaku that Crackdown 3 will now have to be delayed until 2019. This means in 2018, the only first party games to be released so far is Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2. There might be Forza Horizon 4 in the second half of 2018, but that could be it.
It’s a bit unfortunate Microsoft released the new Xbox One X console without the support of a strong first party lineup. Most of what Microsoft has had to do is advertise the console’s merits using third party video games.
There’s still some good news as it’s expected Microsoft will be announcing a ton of new games next week at E3 2018. Hopefully Microsoft gives us some huge surprises because the Xbox brand really needs a bigger and more diverse gaming lineup.
