EA Reveals Why Madden NFL 19 Is Heading To PC This Year But Not The Switch

For the past several years now, the Madden video games from EA Sports has been exclusive only to console platforms such as the PS4 and Xbox One. Now Madden NFL 19 marks a change because EA Sports has decided to release the game on PC.

DualShockers had a chance to interview Creative Director Mike Young and Senior Producer Carlos Guerrero about Madden NFL 19 and the developers revealed the reason why the PC was included this year.

The main thing a PC version was made this year was due to timing. They felt the feature of Origin Access allowed them the perfect time to make a PC version. They also saw an increase of PC users wanting to play Madden on their computers.

Other years were not possible because EA Sports was too busy at the time working on the new Frostbite engine. Now that the engine is complete, they had more time to port a PC version.

Sadly though, EA Sports confirmed that there are no plans for a Switch version of the game at the moment. It’s something that has not been discussed yet, but Madden coming on Switch could still be a possibility in the near future.
