Slowly but surely every Call of Duty video game released on Xbox 360 will be playable on the Xbox One. It has been announced today that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be Xbox One backwards compatible.
Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hyrb announced the following on Twitter: “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility today (and it is currently on sale in this week’s Deals With Gold)“.
Other backwards compatible games in the series include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
The only major Call of Duty game left to be backwards compatible is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The only reason it’s not backwards compatible yet is because a remaster will be released later this year.
