Activision held its recent investors call earlier this week and the company talked in more detail about the future of Destiny 2 and their expectations for the highly anticipated Spyro Reignited Trilogy. It’s safe to assume Activision has high hopes for both games in the future.
In terms of Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Activision admitted that pre-orders for the game are selling well ahead of expectations. Not to mention the company has been receiving millions of views for the game’s trailers across their social media platforms.
The trilogy is similar to the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy because it’s a remake of the original PSOne classics. Spyro could sell out quickly like Crash Bandicoot when it releases on September 21, 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One.
Another game that Activision owns is Destiny 2 which already came out last year. Despite launching last year, a big new expansion is coming out this Fall to add a lot more fun content to the popular FPS.
An interesting part about the Destiny 2 presentation is that Chief Operating Officer Coddy Johnson says the upcoming Fall expansion will have a new mode that adds a fresh playing style to the FPS genre. He did not specify in further detail what this game mode might be, but it could have similar traits to the Battle Royale genre. More on this game mode will be shown at E3 2018.
