Spider-Man PS4 is being released later this year, but fans will be happy to know a book based on the game is being released. It is a prequel book taking place before the events of the game itself.
All the details of the prequel book were reported exclusively by Polygon. The site says that the book will be called Spider-Man: Hostile Takeover and it is being made by both Titan Books in collaboration with Marvel.
Here’s an announcement from Titan Books: “Leading directly into the beginning of the game, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Hostile Takeoverfeatures some of Spidey’s most famous friends and foes, including the Shocker, Echo, the Blood Spider, J. Jonah Jameson, Mary Jane Watson, and Wilson Fisk – the Kingpin.”
The book is being written by David Liss whose previous work includes The Ethical Assassin and Black Panther: The Man Without Fear. Aside from a prequel book, an art book is also being released called Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Art of the Game which is also being published by Titan Books.
Here’s the announcement about the art book: “Packed with never-before- seen images of Spider-Man, his costume and equipment, the Marvel version of his hometown New York, and the deadly villains he battles, fans will learn about every facet of the game, from the initial designs, blueprints, and the breathtaking final concepts.”
Spider-Man: Hostile Takeover has a release date of August 21st, 2018. As for Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Art of the Game, that will be out on September 11th, 2018. The PS4 game is out on September 7th, 2018.
