Xbox Head Phil Spencer recently answered a few questions on his official Twitter account that Microsoft needs to invest more on new gaming IPs and experiences. As you might know already, the first party lineup on Xbox One is kind of small at the moment.
A fan on Twitter replied to Spencer and said that Microsoft needs to go back to its old self and give gamers something fresh and new rather than concentrating all of its efforts on backwards compatibility. The fan wants new gameplay experiences much like it was refreshing playing the first Halo, Gears and Fable back in the day.
Spencer responded to the fan’s query by saying the following: “Is that all, that’s a low bar :-) I hear you. Invest more, invest in teams, empower them to create deep worlds with interesting stories and characters and give them time.”
It’s also worth noting the fan wants more than just multiplayer experiences. This could be a hint that gamers want more epic single player experiences much like the games that the PS4 and Nintendo Switch have been receiving recently.
For now, Microsoft just needs to wait in order to give its developers more time to create epic games. For now, Xbox One gamers can still wait for State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3 to come out later this year while they wait for more games to get released.
