NBA Playgrounds came out last year and was somewhat of a spiritual successor to the famous NBA Jam franchise. Well now we have evidence that NBA Playgrounds 2 might be coming in the near future.
The official Australian Classification Board website made a listing for NBA Playgrounds 2. The date of classification was April 16th, 2018 so its reveal only happened yesterday. Other than a G rating, no other details have been released about the game so far.
NBA Playgrounds released for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC last May. The game was not as fun as NBA Jam, but it was nice to see a different take on basketball. For the past few years, we’ve only seen many NBA 2K and NBA Live games come out.
The only thing I did not like about NBA Playgrounds was its loot box style progression system. Players had to open up card packs to unlock their favorite NBA players. The better players were rare to get and sometimes you can get duplicates of the same player cards!
Hopefully when NBA playgrounds 2 comes out, it will be much easier for you to play as the best players in the NBA. More news should come later this year about the sequel.
