Ever since Call of Duty started back in the early ’00s, mostly every game in the series added some type of single player campaign with an epic storyline. Well sadly it sounds like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 won’t have a traditional single player campaign in order to concentrate more on the game’s multiplayer and Zombies modes instead.
As reported by Polygon, sources tell the website that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 “won’t include a traditional single-player story mode”. Polygon reached out to Activision to comment on the matter and they responded with “we don’t comment on rumor and speculation. We look forward to revealing Black Ops 4 on May 17th”.
One reason why the game won’t have a single player campaign is mainly because it won’t be ready in time for the game’s slightly earlier release date of October 12th, 2018. Usually Call of Duty games are released in the first week of November, but this year’s game has been pushed up to avoid the October 26th release of Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2.
Instead of a single player campaign, the multiplayer and Zombies modes are expected to be expanded and be better than previous games.
