In Ni no Kuni 2, all six playable characters have an opportunity to have their outfits or costumes changed upon doing certain quests or errands in the game. There are a total of three outfits for each character except for Evan who has 4.
Here are the list of costumes or outfits that you can unlock:

Mamooni Garb
Location: Treasure Chest, Drylands near Blowtorch Cave, World Map
Robes of Unity
Location: Complete Chapter 9, Reward for completing the game
Wizard’s Costume – Replica of Oliver’s Outfit
Location: Head to the Shabby Shrine, south of Goldpaw and defeat the tainted monster, Sporepew that resides inside. You will get the costume as a reward.
Vestments of Victory
Location: Complete Quest 158 in Evermore
Leander
Regal Attire
Location: Treasure Chest, Markonos- use the Zeplin to fly across the small island. See the image for exact location, World Map
Hydropolitan King’s Robes
Location: Quest Reward, Upon completing the game- go back to Hydropolis and speak to a Broadleaf Researcher in Kardia Square to get the quest. Complete it and you will get the robe.
Junior Consul’s Clothes
Location: Complete Quest 174 in Evermore. Kingdom must be Level 4
Roland
Shabby Coat
Location: Treasure Chest, Farflung Cape- use the Zeplin and fly northeast of Tightfit Cavern to see a crater along with a Tainted Monster. Among those 3 chests in the crater lies the Shabby Coat costume for Roland.
Swordsman’s Robe
Location: Quest Reward, Upon completing the 4th chapter of thegame- go back to Goldpaw and seek out the mother and child that will give you the quest; Quest 30: Seeds of Righteousness.
Chief Consul’s Coat
Location: Complete Quest 171 in Evermore. Kingdom must be Level 4
Tani
Harpist’s Costume
Location: Treasure Chest, Upheer Plain- use the Zeplin and fly west of Auntie Martha’s Cottage to find a treasure chest. It’s literally south of Hideaway Hollow and west of Auntie Martha’s Cottage.
Greenling Garb
Location: Quest Reward, After completing Chapter 6, go to Evermore and speak to Niall. He will then give you a quest that rewards you Tani’s costume upon finishing it.
Queen’s Gown
Location: Complete Quest 172 in Evermore. Kingdom must be Level 4
Bracken
Goldpaw Gown
Location: Treasure Chest, West of Gold Paw, use your Zeplin to fly across the mountains to see a treasure chest lying around.
Wearable Teach
Location: Quest Reward, complete Quest 148
Ingenious Outfit
Location: Complete Quest 175 in Evermore. Kingdom must be Level 4
Batu
Shipwright’s Shirt
Location: Treasure Chest, Above Tightfit Cavern is a cliff with a treasure chest.
Wild Attire
Location: Defeated the tainted monster, Toxina, just south of Gold Paw.
Commander’s Clobber
Location: Complete Quest 173 in Evermore. Kingdom must be Level 4
