A new update will be coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2 that will change the way you progress. It won’t be the controversial pay-to-win loot box system that angered a lot of gamers back when the game launched last November. The progression system should please most owners of the game.
EA announced on its official website that a new progression system is rolling out in Star Wars Battlefront 2 on March 21st, 2018. Things like Star Cards can only be earned through gameplay and won’t be available to purchase. Experience points will be given to the class you are using allowing you to gain skill points to further enhance your characters.
Everything that you have earned before is kept so all of this will be carried over. This is a good thing for those players that may have grinded a lot prior to this new update being launched next week.
Crates are also different as they are no longer available to just purchase outright. Crates will not also have Star Cards like they did before. Crates will just have cosmetic extras such as emotes, clothing items and other things that don’t directly affect gameplay.
Starting in April, some new appearances are coming too so you can make your heroes and troopers look different than they did before. EA promises even more changes are to come including balancing out the gameplay, content updates and more. Remember, all future updates are free to all players since EA does not want to segregate the gaming population by having paid DLC packs this time around.
