It’s been since 2010 when Skate 3 came out from EA. It’s now 2018 and there has been no signs of a new Skate 4 game anywhere to be found. Well one retailer in Sweden has listed a new Skate game, although it’s hard to tell if this is just a guess from the retailer’s part or an early leak for what’s to come in the future.
Swedish retailer has listed both the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Skate 4 via its official online store website. The game costs 599 kr and it even features some early box-art. The logo kind of looks realistic, although it could just be a concept made by a fan that has been uploaded online.
The only other information about the listing is that it says it will come out in 2019. EA already announced its EA Play 2018 event and promises that it will give us a few new “surprises”. Hopefully Skate 4 is one of the games that EA is teasing to come in the near future.
EA’s sports games are popular, although it can get tiresome playing the likes of FIFA and Madden every single year with little to no big new features. At least with Skate 4, it will be using a new game engine and should allow us to do a lot of new things.
The last mainstream skateboarding to come out for consoles has been Tony Hawk Pro Skate 5. Sadly, that game was rushed into production and was poorly received by just about anyone that played it. Skate 4 might be the game to finally make skateboarding games popular once again.
